    Description

    Moderntone was produced by the Hazel-Atlas Glass Company from 1934-1942 in cobalt and amethyst, with a few pieces in pink and crystal.  Cobalt is, by far, the most popular color.  The bottom of the cheese dish is in mint condition...no scratches, chips, cracks, or damage of any kind.  The metal top has some wear underneath and some wear on the bottom edge.  They are guaranteed to be original production pieces, they were never reproduced.  This lid is the harder of the two styles to find, with the knob on the top.  It is our understanding the "beehive" style was more difficult to make.  We also have the easier version listed, with the knob on the side.  The bottom stands 5/8" tall, 7 7/8" in diameter across the top, and 4 1/2" in diameter across the base.  The metal top is 3 1/2" tall, including the knob and 5" in diameter across the base.  We have other pieces of Moderntone and Depression Glass listed, so please check our other auctions.  Shipping is free.  Please feel free to ask any questions, we'll be glad to help you in any way we can.
